Trooper / Jets Baseball / Rockies win Season Opener / Doubleday Sports Complex Open House set for Wednesday Night

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers and Jets baseball players got on the field at Thorne-Rider stadium Monday evening for the first time this spring.

Early snow and rain yesterday limited their first outdoor practice Head coach Ben Phillips says even though they couldn't have a full workout it was good to get the players on the field for the firs time.

Opening day for the Troopers will be a road double header at the Billings Halos on the 15th.

Doubleday Sports Complex Public Meeting Wednesday Evening

Please join the Doubleday Sports Complex Committee for a public meeting to discuss the Preliminary Plan for the Complex.

This is an opportunity to gather input, feedback and ideas on how to design the complex to fit the needs of the community and the sports groups.

This meeting is intended for the community to attend and learn more about our plan for the complex, we would appreciate your involvement.

The meeting will be held Wednesday April 5, 2017, 6 pm – 8 pm at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Support Services, 61 S. Gould Street

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Wyoming basketball Cowboys blew out Coastal Carolina to win the College Basketball Invitational tournament. The Pokes led by 19 at halftime Coastal Carolina made a brief run to start the second half but the Pokes slammed the door and went onto win the title 83-59 after the victory Head coach Allen Edwards.

And Edwards said the Cowboys set the tone of the game early and built up a big halftime lead.

Wyoming Cowboys Win CBI Title/Rockies Close Spring Training Today/Denver Nuggets Making A Playoff Push

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys men's basketball team won the CBI tournament in dominating fashion yesterday, defeating Coastal Carolina, 83-59. This was the first postseason tournament victory for the Cowboys men's basketball team since 1943 when they won the NCAA Championship.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies look to close out their spring training on a high note as they take on the Seattle Mariners. Rockies will then hit the road to start the regular season beginning a four game series against the Milwaukee Brewers starting on Opening Day.

SOCCER - The Sheridan high school soccer teams open conference play with games against Laramie tonight the Lady Broncs play at home varsity start time is 6:00 the Broncs are playing in Laramie, tomorrow the games with Cheyenne South will start at noon.

TRACK - The Sheridan high school track teams resume the season next a week from today at the Queen City invitational in Spearfish, South Dakota.

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Sheridan high school soccer teams open conference play this week with games against Laramie tomorrow and Cheyenne South Saturday the Lady Broncs play at home varsity start time is 6:00 tomorrow night and at noon Saturday.

TRACK / FIELD - The Sheridan high school track teams are off from competition this week for spring break they resume the season next Friday, April 7th at the Queen city invitational in Spearfish, South Dakota.

BRONC WRESTLING - Sheridan high school Senior Hayden Hastings placed 7th in the 170 pound weight class at the National high school coaches association national wrestling championships.
Hayden went 5-2 in the senior division of the tournament and his 7th place finish gave him All- America status for the 2nd time. Hastings signed to wrestle for the Wyoming Cowboys last fall.
