The 2017 High School Sports Season Officially Starts Monday / Rockies beat the Mets / (Post 6) Still Alive at American Legion Regional Baseball Tournament

FALL SPORTS - The Sheridan Bronc football team have their annual player / parent meeting Sunday at 4 pm the players will have meetings Monday morning at 7:00 then head to the field to begin two a day work outs the Broncs open the season at home on the 25th against Rock Springs.

The Big Horn and Tongue River football teams open practice Wednesday both teams open the season at home September 1st.

In other football openers the Wyoming Cowboys open the season at Iowa September 2nd and the Denver Broncos will play their preseason opener at the Chicago Bears next week on Thursday.

The Bronc and Lady Bronc tennis teams and golfers start practice Monday, the golfers tee it up at their first tournament in Powell next Thursday the tennis teams open their season next Saturday at a Jamboree in Casper.

The Lady Bronc swimmers, SHS Cross country and Volleyball teams all open practice on the 14th.

FOOTBALL OFFICIALS WANTED - The Sheridan football officials association is looking for new officials anyone interested in officiating football this season should come to their next meeting Monday the 14th the meeting will be held at Sheridan high school at 6:00 pm.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies beat the New York Mets 5-4 as Nolan Arenado drew as bases loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth inning for the victory.

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - The Cheyenne Post 6 American Legion baseball team has a 1-1 record at the Northwest regional tournament in Missoula, Montana after dropping a 7-5 game in 11 innings against Honolulu, Hawaii Thursday night.

Post 6 will play a loser out game today against Lewiston, Idaho that game is scheduled to be played at 4:00.
