2011 HOOP JAM - This weekend the 3 on 3 Sheridan Hoop Jam basketball tournament will take place in Whitney Plaza.

The event draws youth and adult teams from all over the region the tournament benefits many youth programs including the Sheridan high school Athletic trainers program.

Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian says the training program is a huge part of activities at Sheridan high school.

BRONC FOOTBALL - Following the Hoop Jam Julian will be putting his coaching hat back on as he takes the Bronc football team to their only summer contact football camp to Chadron state college in Nebraska.

Julian says the annual summer camp has been part of the Broncs football success the last four years.

And he says it's fun for the players and coaches but the coaches really get a chance to see next season's team in action for the first time.

They head to Chadron this weekend the camp runs through next Wednesday.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers take a 7-2 record into a home Double header with Douglas Friday evening the first game will start at 6:00 then they head to Rapid City for two on Sunday.

SHERIDAN MEDIA BENEFIT GOLF TOURNAMENT - The Sheridan Media benefit golf tournament will be played at Kendrick golf course Friday June 10th. shot gun will be at 1:00.

Proceeds from the tournament this year is going to help purchase the statue "Raptoraround" that is located on Main street near the Coffeen intersection.

"Raptoraround" was dedicated on Memorial day for American armed service veterans.

The cost for golfers is 60 dollars per player which includes the golf, cart and dinner following the tournament.
