2-A East Regional Hoops / State Wrestling opens today / SHS v Gillette tonight / Pokes and Cowgirls take on UNLV Saturday

2-A EAST REGIONAL BASKETBALL - The Big Horn and Tongue River basketball teams are playing in the 2-A East regional tournament in Big Horn.

In the first round Thursday the Big Horn Lady Rams lost their opening game against Burns 56-40, today they play an elimination game with Lusk at 9:00.

The Tongue River Lady Eagles beat Lusk 48-34 to advance to the semi finals, they play Burns at 4:00.

The Big Horn Rams beat Burns 59-50 to advance to play Lusk in the semi finals at 5:30.

The Tongue River Eagles lost against Southeast 50-41, they play Moorcroft in an elimination game at 1:30.

BRONC SWIMMING - They start tallying points today at the 4-A state swimming and diving championships the finals begin at 10:00.

BRONC WRESTLING - The Sheridan Bronc wrestlers open the Wyoming state wrestling championships today Casper.

We sat down with Bronc Senior Kerry Powers Thursday for a visit before the state tournament.

Powers came to Sheridan county last fall from Alaska and played football for Big Horn helping the Rams get to the 2-A state title game, this winter he has wrestled with the Broncs.

He is a former Alaska state champion and is in the mix to win a title this weekend in Casper also this week Powers signed a national letter of intent to wrestle in college at the Air Force Academy.

First Powers talks about state tournament expectations. And he says it's the job of every Bronc to help each other.

Powers says his weight division is tough. And finally today Powers says it's been a dream of his to go to one of our service academies.

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams finish up the regular season tonight at home with Gillette. game times are set for 5:30 and 7:00 and we will have both games live on KWYO and 87.7 FM ESPN radio.

COWBOY / COWGIRL BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys and Cowgirls play games against UNLV tomorrow we will broadcast both games live for you on KWYO and 87.7 FM ESPN radio.

The Cowgirls lead off tomorrow and play the Rebels at the Double "AA" that broadcast will start with the pregame show at 1:30 and the tip at 2:00.

The Pokes play at UNLV that broadcast will start with the Cowboy pregame show at 5:30 and the tip at 6:00.
