SHS GOLF - The high school golf season opens tomorrow at Kendrick Golf Course as Sheridan High School hosts the first tournament of the season. The Sheridan Invitational will be played Thursday and Friday. The Broncs come into the season as the defending State Champions and the good news is, the entire Bronc lineup is back to defend the title. It's been a year, and head coach Larry Martoglio says the Broncs are anxious to get the season started.

There is not one senior playing for the Broncs this fall, and Martoglio says the players keep each other sharp The Invitational shotgun starts tomorrow at 10 o'clock.

- The Tongue River and Big Horn golfers will also begin their season tomorrow in the Sheridan Invite. Sandy Michelena took over coaching both programs this past spring and continues into the fall season. Michelena is a Wyoming High School Coaches Hall of Fame member and begins his 49th year of coaching. In fact, the only sport he has not coached in Wyoming is soccer.

In the fall, it's tough for 2-A golf teams to put together full squads because many of the players who compete during the spring season are competing in other sports in the fall in the smaller schools. Michelena says the high school players keep getting better every year, especially during the fall season when they've been playing all summer Next week on Friday, the Tongue River and Big Horn golfers will host their own Invitational at Kendrick.
