JUNIOR GOLF - The Sheridan county junior golf program finished up their season yesterday at the Powder Horn here are the girls results yesterday in the 9-11 year old group Kayla Allen won her third tournament in a row with Peyton Bomar 2nd and Jamy Shassetz 3rd in the 12-13 year old group Emily Speigelberg was 1st with Sarah Rawlings 2nd and in the 14 and older group the winners was Aspen Rawlings, Kira Kirkham 2nd Kindle Kirkham 3rd and Alex Eisele was 4th.

The boys 7-9 year old group was won by Brock Bomar, Kade Eisele was 2nd and Quinn Mccafferty was 3rd, Kirby Coe-Kirkham won the 10 year old group with Coy Steel 2nd and Drew Boedecker 3rd. Jack Mavrakis took the 11-12 year olds with Blake Godwin 2nd and Bailey Bonnet 3rd, Tanner Metzger won the 13-14 year old age group with Hayden Legerski 2nd and Kaul Eisele 3rd Brandon Metzger won the 15 and older group with Taylor Reed 2nd and Chris Cremer 3rd full tournament results can be found on the sports page at sheridanmedia.com.

HS FOOTBALL - The Tongue River Eagles youth football camp opens tonight at the high school in Dayton the first session begins and 6 o'clock with more tomorrow and Wednesday the camp is for players in the 1st through 8th grades.

MORE HS SPORTS - The Sheridan Bronc football team opens fall training camp Monday the annual Bronc player/ parent meeting will be Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock in the Sheridan high school auditorium. “Two a days” begin Monday morning at Homer Scott stadium.
The first day of practice for Sheridan high school volleyball, cross country, tennis, girls swimming and golf will be August 17th Activities director Don Julian reminds all athletes you must have sports physicals complete before you can practice with your teams.

The Sheridan high school booster club will host the 2009 sports season BBQ at the high school August 25th that evening all the fall coaches excluding football will have their athlete/ parent meeting.

NCAA FOOTBALL - The Wyoming football Cowboys open camp Thursday the season opener is at home September 5th against Weber State with the Texas game set for September 12th then on the road to CU in Boulder September 19th.

MLB - The Colorado Rockies gained a half game on the Los Angeles Dodgers last night and now stand 6 and a half games back in the national league west the “Rocks”open a three game series in Philadelphia tonight.
