LOCAL GOLF - Sheridan High School golfers Kamrin Allen and Cameron Lindell completed play at the Junior America's Cup Golf Tournament in Pasadena,California. Yesterday after struggling in round two, Allen came back strong and finished 36th overall. He shot 73 on the first day, 82 Wednesday and came back yesterday ten shots better with a round of 72. His teammate Cameron Lindell's play was consistent over the three days and he finished 53rd with rounds of 79, 78 and 79.
The other Wyoming players did pretty good as well, Kyle Fanning from Cheyenne finished 53rd and Beau Ehlers from Evanston finished 65th as the team of Wyoming players finished 16th overall.
Justin Shin from Maple Ridge,British Columbia was the overall winner with a total of 5-under par. He also led B.C. to the overall team victory.

FOOTBALL CAMP - Next week the Tongue River Eagles will host their youth football camp in Dayton. Tuesday through Thursday, the camp is for all 1st through 8th graders. Sessions will be from 6 to 7:30pm. The Tongue River coaches will have Eagles varsity players helping out as clinicians for the camp. Head coach Chuck Walters says the players love to get involved to help teach the younger kids. The new Tongue River High School opened this spring, and this fall the Eagles will play on their new field. Last year the Eagles practiced and played their home games at the middle school in Ranchester,Walters says it's great to have their facility back. The Eagles open fall camp August 17th.

LITTLE GUY FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Recreation District will open registration for Little guy football Monday. It will run all week for both the flag football and tackle leagues. Parents need to sign up players at the rec office in Thorne-rider park during business hours through Friday. The regular season begins for both programs August 25th.

HIGH GOAL POLO - The Flying “H” Polo Ranch held the “Little Goose” Cup yesterday. In the preliminary matches team “BTA” and “Bendabout” both defeated “The Villages” and met for the cup. The match ended in 5-all tie with team “BTA” coming out on top, breaking the tie by gross goals 11-10.
Tomorrow the club will host the “Bradford Brinton” Cup with “BTA” playing “The Villages”. Play begins at 1 pm. Admission is free, bring blankets and chairs.

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - The State American Legion Baseball Tournament is on going in Rock Springs. They are into day three and the 2009 event is a replay of 2008, with Cheyenne and Gillette set to meet in the winners bracket semi final tonight. Elimination games get underway this morning with Powell playing Cody and Wheatland facing Laramie. The title game is scheduled for tomorrow night at 6 pm. Last year Gillette beat Cheyenne for the state title ending Cheyenne's seven year championship streak.
