Sheridan High School golfers Kamrin Allen and Cameron Lindell are playing in the Junior Americas cup golf tournament in California. The event started yesterday, Allen fired a 3-over par 73 on day one. His round included five bogeys and two birdies, he is three shots off the lead tied for 11th place.
Lindell shot a 78 and is tied for 46th place. His round was really up and done with four birdies along with three double bogeys. The 54 hole event continues through tomorrow.

This weekend the Sheridan “City” golf championship will be held, it's a 36 hole event with one round at Kendrick golf course and one round at the Sheridan country club. Registration will be taken through Friday.

Tongue River Eagles football coach Chuck Walters has announced that the annual “Scream'in Eagles” football camp will be held in Dayton next week. The Eagles open practice august 17th and during the off season Walters says team weight room work outs have been well attended. This is the first off season and the first season for the Eagles in the new school and weight room Walters says it's been good for team morale.The football camp will be held at Tongue River high school next week August 4th, 5th and 6th in the evening from 6 to 7:30 pm. The camp is open to all players from the 1st through 8th grades and is a good opportunity for those young players to get some good instruction and have some fun too camp registration forms are available at the Corner grocery, and the district office in Ranchester or you can contact Coach Walters at 673-7327.

Sheridan high school activities director and football coach Don Julian has announced fall sports reminders. All Sheridan County School District two athletes, no matter the sport must have sports physicals completed before they can participate in any activities. Physicals must be dated after June 1st.
The Sheridan High School football player / parent meeting will take place Sunday August 9th at 4 o'clock in the Sheridan High School auditorium. The first Bronc football practice for all freshmen through seniors will be Monday august 10th. The first day of practice for volleyball, swimming, golf, cross country and tennis is August 17th.

The Colorado Rockies were shut out last night 4-0 in New York that combined with San Francisco's win against Pittsburgh. Both teams are tied in the National league wild card race. The Rockies continue their series with the Mets tonight.
