The Wyoming / Montana high school all-star basketball basketball series tips off tonight in the Hoffman dome at Sheridan college. Four Sheridan county newly graduated seniors will play for team Wyoming on the boys roster is Micheal Tucker he played his high school basketball for Larry Moser at Tongue river high school and was an all-stater this past season. Three players from Sheridan county play for the Wyoming girls tonight Morgan Mines from Arvada-Clearmont will join Katie Strandholm and Taylor Gardner from Sheridan high school. The Montana girls team is loaded with seven division one recruits including Mcdonalds All-American Joslyn Tinkle from Missoula her father Wayne coaches the Montana men's basketball team she will play college basketball at Standford Wyoming girls coach Frank McCarthy says there's no doubt that the Wyoming girls have a great challenge in front of them. McCarthy talks about how they'll go about trying to beat a bigger team.This past season the lady generals were undersized but still won the region nine tournament and McCarthy says this weekend they want to get out and run and play great defense.

The boys game looks like a good match up Wyoming head coach Steve Smiley says they are as ready as they'll ever be.and both teams are in the same situation as far as preparation so much of the game strategy will happen on the fly. The annual Big horn mountain wild and scenic trail run will start a week from today in the Tongue river canyon. Check in for the 100 mile racers is next Thursday the 100 mile event gets started next Friday morning at 6 o'clock. The 50 mile, 50k and 30k races will all get underway next Saturday the finish line for all the races is Scott park in Dayton. the event will culminate with an awards breakfast on Grinnell plaza next Sunday morning.

Today celebrate the arts in Sheridan continues today with the annual Sheridan media golf tournament to benefit the public arts committee will be played at Kendrick golf course as we've mentioned this year's benefit is helping to purchase two sculptures for permanent display at the new early childhood education center. the golf tournament is sold out a big thank you to all tournament sponsors and golfers for participating in this year's event play begins this afternoon at 1 o'clock.

In a scheduling snafu the Sheridan Troopers will play at home Today. The Troops will play Riverton this afternoon at Thorne-rider stadium the game doesn't appear on their printed schedule the first game of the double header will be played at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon they host two with Douglas starting at 1 o'clock and Monday they play two with Spearfish South Dakota at 4 o'clock.

Game four of the NBA finals went to the Lakers last night in overtime Derek Fischer hit a three pointer to tie the game at the end of regulation and hit another big three late in the overtime to seal the laker win. L.A. now leads the series 3-1 game five is Sunday night in Orlando.

The Colorado Rockies are on an eight game winning streak they swept a six game road trip to St. Louis and Milwaukee tonight the Rocks open up a home inter-league series with the Seattle Mariners.
