The 2009 state track meet turned out to be an unprecedented success for the Broncs and Lady Broncs as numerous records fell and personal best marks were achieved.One of the great performances came from senior high jumper Boomer Mclaughlin, Boomer won the state title for the second straight year and the winning height 6'9 ¼ was also a new Sheridan high school record Senior sprinter Justin Will has been one of the fastest Broncs over the last four seasons and culminated his track career at Sheridan high school going out as the state champ at 200 meters Yesterday the Sheridan rec district held the Hersey track meet at Sherdian high school. Bauers says the Hersey track program is a great way to introduce kids to track and field Tomorrow we will put a wrap up on the spring track season.

The high school soccer season finished up in Sheridan last Saturday and post season awards are starting to come out three Lady Broncs have made all conference for the 2009 season. Two made the team as defenders Nicci Kassen made the first team and Catherine Brown made the second team. The third selection is Noelle Golinvaux who made the second team for mid-fielders.

The Troopers / Jets baseball teams get back into action this week, the full blown schedule will get underway next week once school is out for the summer. The Troopers play in Casper Saturday and Douglas on Sunday they play their next home games next week the Jets will play their next games at home Saturday against Lovell.

Trooper baseball camp will be next week June 3rd through the 5th at Thorne-rider stadium, the camp is open to all Webb wright players and will run each day from 9 to noon to register contact Sheridan American legion baseball general manager Dan Bilyue at 672-2376.

The 2009 Wyoming high school all-star basketball teams will be in Sheridan in a couple of weeks. Next week June 4th and 5th the Wyoming / South Dakota all-star basketball games will be played in Gillette and Spearfish. Four Sheridan county girls will play for team Wyoming they are Katie Strandholm and Taylor Gardner from Sheridan high school along with Morgan Mines from Arvada-Clearmont and Sammie Perkins from Bighorn.

The annual Wyoming / Montana all-star series will be played in Sheridan and Billings June 12th and 13th with Strandholm and Gardner representing Wyoming in that series as well. The first night of games will be Friday june12th in the Hoffman dome at Sheridan college on Saturday June 13th games will be played at Rocky Mtn.College in Billings all four games will be broadcast live on our sister station am 14-10 KWYO.

The Sheridan media golf tournament to benefit the public arts committee will be played Friday June 12th at Kendrick golf course. The tournament is a four person team scramble, you can put your own teams together are sign up as a single. The fee is 60 dollars for the golf,cart and dinner following play. proceeds benefit the Sheridan public arts committee is their effort to purchase more permanent art work for Sheridan. to register for the tournament or become a tournament sponsor stop by the Sheridan media studios on KROE lane or call 672-7421.

The Orlando Magic beat Cleveland in overtime last night to take a 3-1 lead in the eastern conference finals. Orlando can advance to the NBA finals with a win tomorrow night in Cleveland. Tonight either Denver or Los Angeles will take a 3-2 lead in the western conference finals, the series is tied at 2-2 game five is tonight in L.A.
