Funeral services for Wayne Rettinghouse Sr. 63 year old Clearmont man who passed away Wednesday at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Billings, will be held Saturday, December 4th at 2:00 p.m. from the Clearmont Community Church in Clearmont with Pastor Alex Sain officiating. Graveside services wil follow the funeral in the Clearmont Cemetery. Visitation will be held from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Donations in Wayne’s memory may be made to the Wayne Rettinghouse Memorial, a fund set up to help the family with final expenses.

Wayne Arthur Rettinghouse was born on October 7, 1947 in Nashville, Tennessee to Wayne and Gladys Rettinghouse. He grew up in Thermopolis and graduated from Hot Springs County High School with the class of 1966. After high school Wayne worked in farming, the oilfield and methane. He was married on August 22, 1987 to Billie Jean Brost and they made their home in Kinnear for 15 years until they settled to Clearmont in 2002.

Wayne and Billie were the kind of couple that even though they had their own children became Foster Parents. They “collected” kids regardless of their age and once in the family they were treated as their own. Wayne was a patient man and shared his love for life, his family and horses with anyone who wanted to join him. Wayne was a quiet leader. Although he was not a joiner of clubs or causes he had a following of many. Wayne never met a stranger, he never turned anyone away and was always thinking of others before himself. Wayne touched many lives in a very positive way, his lifestyle has been an inspiration and he will be deeply missed and always remembered.

Wayne was an avid hunter, camper and he enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed horses and loved spending time with his family, especially his many grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Billie of Clearmont; his mother Gladys Rettinghouse of Sheridan; four sons, Wayne Rettinghouse Jr and his wife Kerry of Moorcroft, Noel McGlothlin and his wife Sara of Clearmont, Bobby Hall and his wife Paige of Clearmont and Dillon Rettinghouse of Sheridan; eight daughters, Misty Dooley and her husband Paul of Riverton, Lisa Mae Pope and her husband of Caldwell, Idaho, Amber Ray and her husband Dave of Gillette, Mandy Rettinghouse of Basin, Lee Trombley of Clearmont. Robin Shipley of Clearmont, Cheryl Frappier of Clearmont and Lisa Truax of Mitchell Nebraska, one brother, Martin Rettinghouse of Greybull and one sister, Evelyn Smiley and her husband Gordon of Riverton; twenty-one grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
