John H. Walter, 83, of Story, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at his daughter's residence.

John was born on July 28, 1934 to parents Charles Howard and Nellie Florence (Bace) Walter in Rago, KA. He grew up in Southern California, Pomona. He enlisted in the Navy July 28, 1951 – July 22, 1954 where he was on the USS Cisco Bay.

Margaret Olava (Peterson) Stender, 90, of Sheridan, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Westview Health Care Center. She was born March 20, 1927 in Havre, Montana to Walter Palmer and Gertrude (Hoyum) Peterson. Margaret graduated for Havre High School. Due to hardscrabble conditions, Margaret and her sister, Avis lived as young girls in Havre to attend school.

Judy Mae (Boyd) Lervick, 72, of Jordan, MT, passed away on June 30, 2017, at her home.

An Inurnment will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017, in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, 1000 Ash St., Sheridan, WY.

Funeral services for Jim Guyton, 92 year old Buffalo man who passed away Thursday evening at the Billings Clinic, will be held Thursday, August 24th at 2:00 p.m. from the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Rev. Doug Wasinger officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel.

Josephine “Josie” A. Sheriff, 84, of Sheridan, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017, at the Westview Health Care Center. She was born on February 11, 1933, in Bismarck, ND, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Kajan) Bartole. She graduated from Lefor High School in 1950. She married Robert Glenn Sheriff in 1953.

Helen L. (Maurer) Deutsch, 56, of Ranchester, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Champion Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Goodwin officiating. A Celebration of Life with a potluck will follow at Ranchester Liquors (across from Cowboy State Bank) in Ranchester.

Ricky Oren Johnson, 57, of Sheridan, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017, at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

Rick was born on January 2, 1960 to parents Donald R. and Dixie (Sherman) Johnson in Casper, WY. He married Sharon Baxter on December 19, 1977. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy Church in Casper. He worked as a laborer.

Beau Logan Chamberlain passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in Sheridan, at the age of 30. He was born on March 30, 1987 in Sheridan, Wyoming, the son of Jane and (the late) Byron Chamberlain, Jr. Beau attended Sheridan schools and was a 2005 graduate of Sheridan High School. He studied at the University of Wyoming and was nearing completion of his BS degree.

A celebration of the life of Isabel Aguilar, 84 year old Buffalo resident who passed away quietly surrounded by family at the Agape Manor early Monday morning will be held Friday, August 25th at 2:00 p.m. at Agape Manor with Kent Waugh officiating. Interment will be in the Rio Grande Cemetery in Del Norte, Colorado.

Doris was born October 31, 1941 in Sturgis, SD to Ralph and Leona (Schuller) Voorhees. She attended the one-room Kennedy School in Arpan, SD through 8th grade and then on to Nisland High School. She earned her teaching degree at the age of 17 at the Black Hills Teachers College in Spearfish, SD.

Laura Meade, 101, of Sheridan passed away peacefully on August 9, 2017 at the Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. She was born on September 28, 1915 to Ray and Florence Palmer in Hetland, South Dakota (current population 46). She married the love of her life, Clyde Wake, and raised their two children, Carl and Susan (Gladys) in New Castle, Wyoming.

Reverend William L. Cummins, 93, of Story, WY, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at the VA Medical Center.

Reverend Cummins was born on January 18, 1924, to parents, Vernon and Edith (Martin) Cummins in Dawson, NE.

Lawrence “Larry” Baumgartner passed away at home on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 surrounded by family. He was born March 23, 1936 to Henry and Agnes (Smith) in Buffalo.
Larry spent his time growing up on the family ranch in Arvada with his twin brothers, Jim and Tim. He went to grade school by Arvada and graduated from Sheridan High School.
