Funeral services for Lenny “Punk” Crites, 66 year old, long time Buffalo resident who passed away Wednesday at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, with his girls by his side, will be held on Friday, January 11th at 2:00 p.m. from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tom Saur officiating. A reception will directly follow the funeral service at the Hampton Inn Conference Room in Buffalo. Private family interment will be held in the Glenrock, Wyoming Cemetery. Donations in Lenny’s memory may be made to the St. Francis Animal Shelter in care of the Adams Funeral Home in Buffalo.
Leonard Earl Crites was born on October 7, 1946 in Douglas, Wyoming to Joe and Ethel Crites. He grew up and went to school in Glenrock and graduated from Glenrock High School with the class of 1965. Lenny began his professional career as a salesman for Firestone Tire until becoming self-employed with Sheridan Tire and Brake. Lenny owned and operated Buffalo Tire and Gas 4 Less which he had until 1996. Since that time Lenny continued to live in Buffalo and dedicated his life to the people of Johnson County with his volunteer spirit, landscaping and snow removal.
Lenny was a member of the Masonic Lodge and actively donated his time grooming snow machine trails in the Big Horns. Lenny loved spending time in the Big Horns and with his family. He always had a special place in his heart for his beloved pets.
He is survived by two daughters, Cari Drew and her husband Jon of Houlton, Maine and Nicole Wright and her husband Mark of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister Naomi Sue Perkins of San Diego, California; three grandsons, Jonathan Drew II of Springfield, Oregon, Joshua Drew of Littleton, Maine and Ryan Wright of Kansas City, Missouri; one niece Robin and one nephew Timothy. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Ethel Crites and his grandparents, Charles and Alicia Martin of Glenrock.
