Funeral services for Hazel Dykes 91 year old Buffalo woman who passed away Monday at Sheridan Manor, will be held Tuesday, November 30th, at 2:00 p.m. from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bob McHenry officiating. Visitation will be held from the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 pm. A private family interment will follow the services in Willow Grove Cemetery. Donations in Mrs. Dykes’ memory may be made to the Buffalo Senior Center in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.

Hazel Irene Dykes was born on August 15, 1919 in Monarch, Wyoming to Hyrum and Loupinney Tryon. She moved with her family as a young child to Spotted Horse, Wyoming where she grew up and received her schooling. She was married on August 23, 1937 in Hardin, Montana to Rolla Dykes and they made their home in Clearmont, Wyoming where Rolla was a ranch hand and Hazel was a homemaker. They moved to Buffalo in 1967 where Mr. Dykes owned and operated Dykes Shoe Repair shop until 1980. Mr. Dykes passed away in November of 1985 and Hazel continued living in Buffalo until she moved into the Sheridan Manor in 2008. She lived at Sheridan Manor until the time of her death.

Hazel loved to read and was an avid bird watcher. She loved spending time with her family, especially her many grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, John Dykes of Buffalo and Gene Dykes of Sheridan; three daughters, Gloria Brown and Ann Arcoren both of Buffalo and Clara Brown of Sheridan; one brother David Tryon of California; twenty-three grandchildren- twenty-six great-grandchildren and twenty-three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother Glenn Tryon, two sisters Augusta Schunk and Clara Jackson, two daughters Nancy Korp and Bonnie Float, one son Lonnie Dykes who was killed in Vietnam, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
