Private family services for Evory Hanson, 94 year old Johnson County woman who passed away in Charlotte, North Carolina after a brief illness, will be held at a later date. Donation in Evory’s name may be made to the Hoofprints of the Past Museum in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo, Wyoming.

Evory Viola Hanson was born on April 18, 1918 in Norma, North Dakota to D.S.P. and Mette Marie Lund. She married Clifford Hanson in 1937. Evory was known as Mrs. Hanson to many Johnson County students including her daughters, some granddaughters, and nieces and nephews. She started her teaching career at the Klondike School in 1935 for wages of $500 a year. She took time for her family and helped her mother run the Kaycee Meat Market while her brothers and husband served their country in WWII. She taught at Barnum, Mayoworth, and Sussex schools. She spent most of her life in Kaycee teaching until retirement. After retiring she divided her time Buffalo, Story, and Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2004 and after breaking her hip she moved in with her Grandson Tom James and family.

She was an active member for many years in the American Legion Auxiliary, Kaycee Grange, Matrons Club, Kaycee Methodist Church, and Buffalo Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Darleen Arndt and her husband Carl of Arvada, Wyoming; five grandchildren, Cindy Arndt of Wright, Wyoming, Carleen Wagoner her husband Len of Plains, Montana, Robert Arndt and his wife Dolly of Arvada, Wyoming, Tom James and his wife Lisa of Charlotte, North Carolina and William Arndt of Evans, Colorado. Seven great grandchildren; Rocky and Dustin Wagoner of Plains, Montana, Wendy, Tory, and Jaycie Arndt of Arvada, Wyoming, Tiffany Gipson and Amber James of Charlotte, North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cliff, daughter Beverley, three brothers and four sisters.
