Funeral services for Dave Schoonover, 56 year old Buffalo man who passed away suddenly Thursday morning at the home of his mother in Buffalo will be held Monday, November 15th at 11:00 a.m. from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Reverend Tom Saur officiating. Private family interment will be held by his family. Donations in Dave’s memory may be made to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation in care of the Adam’s Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.

David Alvin Schoonover was born on November 3, 1954 in Buffalo, Wyoming to Ray and Mary Louise Schoonover. He grew up and went to school in Buffalo and graduated from the Johnson County High School with the class of 1974. After high school Dave enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and spent time in San Antonio, Texas and Tucson, Arizona. After his military obligation Dave returned to Buffalo where he was a carpenter. He worked for Spiering Construction for many years and continued living in Buffalo until the time of his death.

Dave was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and spending time in the mountains. He also loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his nephew.

He is survived by his mother Mary Louise Schoonover of Buffalo; one brother, Larry Schoonover also of Buffalo; one sister, Carolyn Schoonover of Lakewood, Colorado one nephew Jacob Schoonover of Buffalo; his aunt and uncle Charles and Margaret Belding of Buffalo; an aunt and uncle Thomas and Jeane Belding of Washington State; an aunt and uncle Sara and Bill Carey of Phoenix, Arizona; an aunt Addie Cook of Clearmont and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father.
