Johnson County has accepted a grant from the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) in the amount of just over $21,000.

County Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly explained the grant to the county commission, saying she had originally applied for $84,000 to replace the county’s emergency communications equipment.

Civil Deputy County Attorney Barry Crago reviewed the contract and had no issues with it.

The commission approved and accepted the grant in the amount of $21,112.50 for inter-operable emergency communications that can be used through August 31, 2023.
