Those who might not be always available to take Sheridan College classes during the day, will soon have a few more ways to get a course or 2 in around their own schedule.

The College has announced a new initiative called the evening plus program, where additional courses on top of what the college already has, will be available in the evenings or on-line starting spring semester of next year.

Courses in particular are for those seeking a degree in business, social science, general studies, health sciences and human services.

In addition to the courses, tutoring, the Writing Center, the Math Lab and the library will be available in the evenings.

An evening class in English and an Introduction to Business class will both also be available at the Tongue River Community Center in Ranchester, as well as a 2-day day course in substitute teaching.

Sheridan College President Dr. Walter Tribley says daytime classes aren’t always ideal for those interested in getting ahead with their daytime job.

Dr. Walter Tribley

“We’re talking as a team about lighting up Sheridan College, meaning turning the lights on very brightly at night. That’s not to say we don’t have any classes at night, that’s not true, but we are expanding. It’s about scaling, we are scaling up at night.”

Registration for various courses starts on November 9th and classes begin on January 24th.
