Buffalo Senior Center's Pie Auction Raises $2,900

The Buffalo Senior Center had their annual Pie Auction Fundraiser Friday night, and unofficially raised just over $2,900 to benefit the Meals on Wheels and other programs at the senior center.

Some seventy-plus people in attendance bid on more than sixty items ranging from plates of cookies to pies of numerous different flavors to a layered angel food cake. The highest-grossing baked item was a German Cake that went for a bid of $250. Most items went near the $50 range.

Also at this year's auction was a handmade quilt that went for $225.

Larry Brannian and Dave Cates from Brannion Auction House volunteered their time to run the auction and kept the crowd entertained during the fun fund-raising event.
