Johnson County Caring And Sharing Programs Underway

Every Holiday season the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce involves themselves in numerous events but also in the many Caring and Sharing Programs that benefit those in the community that need them.

Chamber Director Angela Jarvis said each of the programs is needed and are a big part of the Holiday season each year in Buffalo. The programs would not happen without the many people that help during the Holidays, she said.

The Hat and Mitten Tree is located at the Bank of Buffalo and donations of hats, mittens and scarves will be collected and given to area children in need.

The Christmas Book Drive at First Northern Bank collects books that will be donated to children of all ages through the Caring and Sharing program. Donations will be accepted through December 10th.

Angel Trees are located at area businesses. Choose a tag from the tree, fill the wish list and return the unwrapped items to the Buffalo Senior Center or the Chamber by December 15th.

Senior Stockings can be picked up at the Senior Center, filled with gifts and returned by the 10th.

And the Toys For Tots program will be collecting new, unwrapped toys and other gifts to participating area businesses by December 10th for distribution. Donations of cash and wrapping paper and tape will also be accepted.
