Funeral services for Elaine “Dean” Holmes, 89 year old Casper resident who passed away Thursday morning at the Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, will be held Friday, July 13th at 2:00 p.m. from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with her son Jim Dean, Father Stuart Crawshaw and Father Ken Kinner officiating. Visitation will be held from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday in Casper from St. Patrick’s from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo with graveside services to be held on Saturday July 14th at 11:00 p.m. Donations in Mrs. Holmes memory may be made to the Holy Family Church in Casper or the Central Wyoming Hospice in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.

Mable Elaine “Dean” Holmes was born on February 12, 1923 in Phillipsburg, Kansas to David and Lotus Patterson. She grew up and went to school in St. Joseph, Missouri where she attended high school. She was married on February 25, 1939 to Willis Dean in Troy, Kansas and they made their home in Bridgeport, Nebraska and later Gering, Nebraska. They moved to Casper in 1957 where Elaine was a homemaker and Willie was a welder. They were divorced and she later married George Holmes and they made their home in St. Joseph, Missouri. Mr. Holmes passed away in 1991 and Elaine moved back to Casper where she again became good friends with Willie Dean. She continued living in Casper until the time of her death.

She attended Holy Family Church in Casper. She enjoyed crafts, and going to lunch with friends and family . She was an avid poker player and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by three sons, Jim Dean and his wife Rheva, Johnnie Dean and his wife Rita and Jerry Dean all of Casper; two stepsons David Holmes and his wife Shirley and George Holmes and his wife Nina all of St. Joseph, Missouri; one step-daughter Mary Cole also of St. Joseph; one sister Doris Sass of Kansas City, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and one brother.
