Geraldine Campbell

Graveside funeral services for Geraldine (Jerry) Campbell, 93-year-old former Buffalo resident who passed away while living with her daughter in Bountiful, Utah, will be held Saturday, July 18 that 2:00 p.m. in Willow Grove Cemetery with Pastor Steven Martin officiating. Donations in Mrs. Campbell’s memory may be made to the Jim Gatchell Museum in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams. Online condolences may be made at www.harnessfuneralhome.com

Geraldine Maud Campbell was born on October 11, 1926, in Glendo, Wyoming to Leo and Dortha Lees Adami. She grew up and went to school in Casper until her senior year when the family moved to Buffalo. She then graduated from Johnson County High School with the class of 1944.  After high school she worked as a bookkeeper for her father for a year before she moved to Long Beach, California, to work as a switchboard operator for the phone company. Jerry returned to Buffalo after about a year and continued to work as a telephone operator. She was married on February 2, 1947, in Buffalo to Lee Campbell and they made their home in Buffalo where Lee worked for the US Post Office and Geraldine stayed at home to raise her young family. Eventually, she went to work as a bookkeeper for Wyoming Bank and later for various businesses in Buffalo. Lee passed away in April of 1990 and Jerry continued living in Buffalo until 2004 when she moved to live with her daughter and family.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and several church organizations through the years. She enjoyed her time spent at the family cabin they owned. Jerry liked to sew and play cards. Most of all she loved the time spent with her family.

She is survived by one daughter Cathy Zigweid and her husband Richard of Bountiful, Utah; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Don Campbell, three brothers and one sister.
