The Hub on Smith and Design Your Tech have partnered to develop a program that keeps seniors connected and learning.

Design Your Tech co-owner Tyler Wells and Fun Department Wellness coordinator for the HUB Lisa Wells developed the program after noting many seniors were never taught how to operate computers and devices.

Tech Connect is a program that provides seniors with devices such as iPads and smartphones to allow seniors to stay connected with friends, loved ones and even health care providers. The program also gives instruction on how to use the devices.

During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Lisa Wells described the virtual gatherings that have become accessible to seniors involved with the program.

To donate, drop old or unused devices at the Hub on Smith, 211 Smith Street. Tech Connect requests that devices be dropped in the plastic tub by the north door facing Whitney Commons.

Drop off hours are between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday – Friday.

To learn more on Tech Connect and how to donate or enroll to the program, contact Lisa Wells at lwells@thehubsheridan.org.
