The first in the spring edition of the Sheridan College Museum of Discovery Science Lecture Series will take place on Wednesday evening in the Mars Agriculture Center Room 201 on Campus. Forest Hydrologist for the Bighorn National Forest Chris Williams will give a presentation entitled Fens of the Bighorn Mountains according to Northern Wyoming Community College District Public Relations Specialist Claire Barnes.

Williams will share research about fens, which are peat forming wetlands that develop where a relatively constant supply of groundwater creates stable hydrologic conditions. An effort began in 2011 to better understand the abundance and distribution of fens on forest lands with the help of the Wyoming Natural Resource Database. This lecture is free and open to the public with a start time of 7 Wednesday evening.
