Wyoming Website Points Doctors to Financial Aid Options

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Department of Health has created a Web page with loan and scholarship information for students and workers in the medical field. The department created the site to help recruit and retain health care professionals in rural and underserved areas in Wyoming.

Jeff Hopkins of the Office of Rural Health says many of the featured programs include funding specifically to encourage medical professionals to work in such areas. Wyoming health officials say recruiting new doctors will be critical as practicing physicians get older and retire.

The new Web page includes information on loan repayment and health care scholarship programs for doctors, nurses, health care faculty, mental health and allied health care professionals. To learn more, click here:
