Wyoming Treasurer Dies

Wyoming State Treasurer, Joe Meyer, passed away Friday. Wyoming governor, Matt Mead, has ordered all U.S. and Wyoming flags to be flown at half-mast until Oct. 21 in memory of Meyer's service to the state of Wyoming.

The governor also indicated via a media release he will send a letter notifying the chairman of the Republican Party of Meyer's passing, which will initiate the process of appointing a replacement to fulfill his duties until an election is held.

Other Wyoming dignitaries, including Senator, John Barasso and Superintendent of Public Instruction, Cindy Hill, have made public statements offering their condolences and honoring Meyer's service to the state of Wyoming.
