CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - The Natural Resources Conservation Service reports that Wyoming's statewide snowpack is at 68 percent of average, down from 82 percent two weeks ago. The service reported Monday that the Belle Fourche River drainage in northeast Wyoming was particularly low at only 3 percent of the 30-year average. That means snowpack there has basically melted out.

The Lower North Platte River drainage was in the best shape Monday at 99 percent of average. Water managers have been predicting low spring runoff as a result of the state's below-average snowpack, which could result in tight water supplies for agriculture producers this summer.

At this time last year, the state average was 96 percent of average with a low of 74 percent and a high of 117 percent.
