Wyoming Police: 11-Year-Old Boy Leads High-Speed Chase

RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming police say an 11-year-old boy led law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase reaching up to 100 miles per hour in a large SUV.

Bureau of Indian Affairs police say the chase started about 3 am Tuesday near Riverton and ended about 50 miles away near Crowheart on the Wind River Reservation. The driver then tried to flee by jumping into a lake and swimming, but he turned back to shore where officers caught him.

The boy was taken into custody by the Wind River Police Department, which is handling the investigation. BIA Special Agent in Charge, Charles Addington, says that alcohol was involved and that charges were pending in juvenile court.
