AARP Kicks Off “You've Earned a Say” Campaign

Wyomingites are being invited to add their two cents when it comes to health care and retirement. A-A-R-P has kicked off the "You've Earned a Say" campaign, partially in response to polling that shows 95 percent of Americans think Washington should spend more time listening to ordinary folks about Social Security and Medicare. Tim Summers with A-A-R-P Wyoming.

Summers says because it's an election year, political rhetoric has caused confusion, and in Congress, much of the debate is happening behind closed doors. So part of the campaign will focus on education.

Summers says about 91 thousand state residents use Social Security, and 81 thousand use Medicare. Questionnaires will be distributed to gather opinions, and there will be local meetings.
