A WyoLotto Powerball player from Sheridan has won the lucky draw.

Angie Weeks won $15,000 in a random drawing held on Dec. 7 at a retailer in Sheridan.

According to information released by the lottery office, players entered the contest by purchasing a Powerball ticket between Oct. 4 and Dec. 4 and entering their ticket code at wyolotto.com. She purchased one ticket for each game – Mega Millions, Powerball and Cowboy Draw.

The $15,000 prize arrived at the perfect time, she said, in the statement released by the lottery office, because she plans to use the money to pay off bills and enjoy the holiday season with her fiance and three children, ages five, three, and eight months.

With part of her winnings, she said, she plans to make sure her children are snug and warm in three new beds as winter’s chill sets in. The $15,000 giveaway kicked off the release of the new Powerball, which features better odds, a new 10X Power Play® multiplier, and the chance for a billion dollar jackpot.
