WYDOT Road Projects Include I-90 At Powder River

Earlier this month the Wyoming Transportation Commission awarded $33 million for highway projects in the state, including a $20.3 million project on Interstate 90 east of Buffalo.

Ron Williams, Resident Engineer with WYDOT in Buffalo, said the project is slated to begin in the eastbound lanes this summer and is tentatively scheduled for completion in June of 2014. At this time, no project schedule has been submitted by the contractor, Riverside Contracting of Missoula, Montana.

The project, according to Williams, will be located between markers 83 and 89 just east of the Indian Creek Exit to Powder River.
Some of the work will include: milling off the asphalt surfacing and overlaying new asphalt; reconstruction of repair settlement areas; complete reconstruction and grade lowering to repair settlement areas; work on existing pipe crossings and install erosion control measures; and extensive repairs to eight bridges.

Also included in the project is milling and overlay of the Powder River interchange ramps and crossroads and the Powder River Rest Area parking lot.

Although some work will begin this summer, the bulk of work will be done in the summer of 2013.
