Worlds of Music Program Coming in October

Coming up in October, Buffalo's Worlds of Music organization will present their latest celebration of music that will feature workshops, performances, talks, and a community dance.

This program will be given by Lone Piñon, a conjunto trio from northern New Mexico whose music celebrates the region’s cultural roots, according to a release from Worlds of Music.

Lone Piñon’s members Noah Martinez, Tanya Nuñez, and Jordan Wax honor the landscape and history of New Mexico and the American Southwest.
Their performances reflect the intercultural experience that has shaped both Anglo and Hispanic music in the United States.
They have preserved an older music style that has all but disappeared in New Mexico while letting that music live in new forms that speak to people today.

Lone Piñon will perform Wednesday, October 9th at the Buffalo Senior Center from 12:45 to 2pm and will talk about their lives and their music.

Thursday they will lead a crowd plunge on Buffalo's Main Street, with stops at Up In Smoke, Un'Wine'd, and the Occidental Saloon from 6:30 to 8pm.

And Saturday they will offer a workshop at Buffalo High School from 10:30am to 12:30pm, and perform at a community dance at the American Legion Hall that night from 7:30 to 10pm.
