Winners of Buffalo Chamber Awards Announced

During the the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce Luncheon held Wednesday, the winners of the 2015 Chamber Awards were announced.

There were six categories this year, and the winners, which include both businesses and individuals, were voted on by community members who are on the chamber’s email list. The Spirit of Buffalo Award is awarded to an individual who goes above and beyond to be a part of the community, particularly showing involvement in chamber events. Kitty Merrill took that honor. The Volunteer of the Year Award went to Bart Marton.

The Rising Star Award Award is given to a fairly young business who has shown major growth and support for the community. Gigi’s Upscale Resale took that honor. Michelena’s Automotive won the Legacy Award, which honors longtime businesses that are considered pillars of the community. The Bank of Buffalo Community Enhancement Award, which honors a business that has improved the community, went to Clear Creek Brewing Company. Finally, the Cornerstone Award went to Sagewood Gifts and Cafe, for their tireless efforts to promote the chamber throughout the year.

For those who want to participate in the voting next year, all you have to do is ask to be placed on the chamber’s mailing list. Also to be noted, another Buffalo-based business Sports Lure won the Best Business Member Award during the Wyoming State Chamber of Commerce Awards held in late April in Cheyenne.
