Wildlife Habitat Management Areas Open Soon

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has several Wildlife Habitat Management Areas in Sheridan and Johnson Counties. The seasonal closures on those areas will be lifted next week according to Game and Fish Sheridan Region Public Information Specialist Tina Schmidt.

Rules and regulations for recreating in the areas can be found on the Game and Fish website. Schmidt said in addition to the regular openings, there will be a celebratory event on Saturday May 18 for a significant milestone that the Amsden and Kerns areas have reached.

The hike will begin at the north Amsden gate at 9:30am. Those interested in carpooling can meet at the Sheridan Information Center on 5th street at 9am. Participants are encouraged to bring water, snacks, and a picnic lunch.
