The Whitney Benefits Foundation committed another $1.5 Million to Sheridan College this morning to support the renovation and expansion of the Thorn-Rider Campus Center, which is currently under construction. A media release from college administrators indicates half of the donation will go to support the building itself, and the other half will be used on the plaza.

Tom Kinnison, President of Whitney Benefits, said the investment is one of many intended to benefit the community as a whole.

Kinnison says the foundation's long-standing relationship with Sheridan College is in keepings with the intended tradition of its originator.

The Whitney Benefits donated the first piece of land on which the Sheridan College campus now stands. Since then, gifts from the Foundation to the college exceed $47 million.
