Weekend Event Launches Air Ambulance Service

UPDATE: Air ambulance service based in Sheridan is now officially off the ground.

An open house celebrating its arrival was held Saturday at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Air Method, doing business as Wyoming Life Flight, will now have a helicopter and crew based in Sheridan, and a fixed-wing airplane available in Casper.

During Saturday morning’s brief ceremony, hospital CEO Mike McCafferty called the arrival of the air ambulance service a “big deal” for the hospital and the community.

Representing Wyoming Life Flight at the ceremony was Dr. William Selde, who is the medical director for the service. Others attending the opening were representatives of the local emergency responders, including Sheridan Fire and Rescue and Rocky Mountain Ambulance service.
