Weather Doesn't Stop Community Center Carnival

By Judy Hagerott, Sheridan Media News - Families facing blustery north winds turned out in droves at the 1st annual fundraiser of the new Tongue River Valley Community Center in Dayton Sunday afternoon.  The fundraiser was held to offset operating expenses for the center, which provides the communities of Ranchester and Dayton with programs and activities such as pickleball and basketball, yoga, aerobics, plus cribbage and pinochle.

Pleased with the turnout, Director Erin Kilbride indicated that it is an all-around center for people to gather, helping to alleviate the hardship of driving into Sheridan.  The center partners with the Sheridan’s YMCA and Senior Center to provide programs and activities for both youth and seniors.

Opened last December, the community center is a remodel of the old high school in Dayton.
