The first phase of the water meter system replacement project is complete, as Keystone Utility Systems has installed more than 1,200 new meters in the Big Horn, Big Goose, and Powder Horn areas.

City Utilities Director Dan Roberts says the project consists of replacing approximately 9,000 water meters throughout the City and the Sheridan Area Water Supply System, as most water meters in the community are over 20 years old and at the end of their useful life.

The next phase of installations will take place in the North Heights, Holly Ponds areas of Sheridan. There will be a public information meeting on the installations at the Sheridan High School cafeteria on Tuesday, November 28 at 5:30 pm.
