Water Agreement With M&M Ranch Signed by Jo Co

A water agreement and license with M&M Ranch Acquisition LLC, the Lake DeSmet Counties Coalition Joint Powers Board, Sheridan County and Johnson County was signed by Johnson County Commission Chair Smokey Wildeman at their meeting Tuesday.

The agreement, according to commissioner Delbert Eitel, is between the LDCC and M&M Ranch, who split the operational costs of the reservoir portion of the lake, and this new agreement changes the percentage that M&M Ranch is responsible for.

The original agreement was between Texaco and M&M Ranch, which was assumed by all parties when ownership of the lake was transferred to Johnson, Campbell and Sheridan Counties. Campbell County has since relinquished any interest in the lake to the other two counties.

Amber Irby, Administrative Assistant with the LDCC, explains the agreement further.

The agreement will be on the Sheridan County Commissioner's Agenda for consideration at their January 3, 2012 meeting.
