Voter Turnout Statewide Only 50 Percent

The Wyoming Secretary of State's Office reports that statewide voter turnout for Tuesday's Primary Election were some of the lowest numbers in the past 30 years. State Elections Director Peggy Nighswonger says that the numbers should pick up come November.

Nighswonger said that based on unofficial results from the county clerks, voter turnout for the Primary Election was just under 50 percent of those who are registered to vote; and only 25 percent of those eligible to vote.

In Sheridan County there were 5,466 voters who made their way to the polls for Tuesday's Primary.
