Volunteers Needed for Buffalo Senior Center Program

The Buffalo Senior Center is in need of volunteers to deliver meals to senior citizens in the community. Sally Frost, Interim Director of the Buffalo Senior Center, said volunteers are needed for Sundays especially.

Frost explains why they are in need of volunteers, and what the volunteers will do.

There are a number of local churches, organizations, businesses and individuals that volunteer to deliver meals throughout the week, but Sundays always seem to be the day they need volunteers most.

Frost said delivery for the Meals on Wheels program is done strictly through volunteers, and without them the senior center would not be able to offer the program.

Frost said volunteers need to understand they will not be reimbursed for their time or for fuel, but the routes usually only include a few clients who are within a few miles of the senior center itself. The amount of time required is reasonable, she said.
