VOA Gives Jo Co Commission Quarterly Update

Todd Richins, a new director with Volunteers of America, or VOA, gave a quick quarterly report to the Johnson County Commissioners, touching on numbers of those served and where the program is through the first quarter of this fiscal year.

Richins said during the quarter that ended in September, VOA had 18 individuals on probation/diversion, 14 in treatment court, had administered 222 urinalyses or UA's, and conducted 30 home visits or curfew checks.

Of the County's 50 bed days they have at VOA's Sheridan facility for the fiscal year, only two were used in the first quarter, he said.

Richins also told the commissioners of a program that Johnson County's youths are now beginning to get involved in, and he explained what it does and how it works.
