Victim's Mother Says Rapist Eluded Justice

Posted in

The mother of a 14-year-old rape victim says the pending release of the girl's assailant after just 30 days in a Montana prison has denied her daughter vindication.

Former teacher Stacey Rambold is to be released from Montana State Prison today after completing a one-month sentence for the 2007 rape of Cherice Moralez.

Her mother, Auliea Hanlon, told The Associated Press that Rambold is "still skating" clear of justice six years after raping her daughter while she was one of his students at Billings Senior High School.

The teenager committed suicide in 2010 before Rambold went to trial.
