House Bill 82, the legislative bill that will authorize the building of a state-run veterans skilled nursing facility in the state, has been amended again, this time to place the facility in Casper instead of Buffalo.

As of Wednesday, the senate's Transportation, Highways, and Military Affairs Committee recommended an amendment to the bill for it to be built in Casper.

State Senator Dave Kinskey of Sheridan, said that committee voted 4 to 1 to recommend Casper as the site for the facility, but he expects there to be some debate in the senate on the site.

Kinskey said that the recent meeting between the Johnson County Healthcare Center, Buffalo City Council and the Johnson County Commission is a positive development that will likely be considered by lawmakers in Cheyenne.

The bill was sent to the Appropriations Committee where it was passed and sent on to the senate's general file where it is scheduled to be debated on the senate floor today (Monday).
