Mead Issues Veterans Day Proclamation

Mead Issues Veterans Day Proclamation

Wyoming governor Matt Mead was joined by members of the Wyoming National Guard and Adjutant General Luke Reiner this week to sign a proclamation for Veterans day.

Mead says one advantage of being governor is getting to meet those who have served.

Mead will attend the Blue Star Memorial Service Friday in Douglas.

Representative Cynthia Lummis will be in Sheridan Friday and will speak at the VA Hospital at 11 am this morning.

Events in Sheridan for Veterans Day include a blood drive at Sheridan Manor, call for an appointment, and walk-ins are welcome.

There will be an American Legion Auxiliary Bake Sale for Veterans at 137 N. Brooks Street in Sheridan. All proceeds go to support Veteran's programs through the American Legion.

Also there will be a special ceremony to honor veterans during the “A Nonprofit Gathering” event at noon in the Sheridan College Golden Dome.

Banks, post offices, the library and city and county government buildings will all be closed.
