Veterans Day Observed In Buffalo Sunday

Buffalo had Veterans Day Observances on Sunday, November 11, beginning with the American Legion Powder River Post No. 13's pancake breakfast followed by the Veterans Day Program downtown and the open house and Flag Retirement Ceremonies later in the day.

The program at the Veterans Memorial at the corner of Fort and Main Streets began at 11am with the Parade of Veterans to the Memorial, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, Flag Ceremony, Address, the reading of “Flanders Fields” and the Benediction and concluded with the volleys from the firing squad.

The Address was given by Lisa Griffith, Veteran's Benefits Coordinator for the Veterans Home Of Wyoming.
She said it is important to remember all who served and that we must teach our children and grandchildren why we observe Veteran's Day, because those who served embody the spirit that has guided our nation.

Jim Hicks gave the Benediction before the firing of the volleys.

The American Legion hosted an open house at their home in the afternoon where the Veteran's Day observances continued.
