Various Special Needs Agencies Participating in "Disabilities Awareness Month"

Monday we shared with you that RENEW clients and staff joined Mayor Dave Kinskey on the front steps of Sheridan City Hall for the official proclamation that March is "Disabilities Awareness Month." Other agencies in Sheridan that are observing the month include Easter Seals with their annual "Easter Seals Players" show at the WYO and People First with a St. Patrick's Day bake sale at Safeway.

Also participating in the special month is Jodi's Heart, which Jodi Smith opened in Sheridan two years ago. Jodi's Heart serves between 25 to 30 clients, and Case Manager Jarod Martin describes their activities this month.

Martin says that they also participate in an exercise of "walking in another person's shoes," so to speak.

Disabilties Awareness Month in Sheridan County runs through March 31st.
