The University of Wyoming’s Doctor of Nursing Practice Program has been fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Program Director Ann Marie Hart says graduates of the program can now take the national certification exam and obtain licenses to practice in Wyoming and other states. Hart says the program will strengthen delivery of both primary and mental health care in Wyoming.

She says the UW Board of Trustees approved the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program in 2010. The first students enrolled in the fall semester of 2012, so the program’s first graduates will enter the workforce in 2015.
