UW Moves Forward With Draft Strategic Plan

Posted in

Officials with the University of Wyoming began the process of developing a strategic plan late last year when UW President Dr. Laurie Nichols and staff held a series of listening sessions around the state to garner public input on what should be included in the plan.

UW Communications Director Chad Baldwin said that school officials are hoping to have the new strategic plan in place by July 1.

The draft plan includes improving collaboration with the State’s 7 community colleges and K-12 schools; expanding student recruitment services; and increasing private contributions and research funding.

The Strategic Planning Leadership Council crafted the draft plan, which may be altered before being presented for consideration by the Faculty Senate, Staff Senate and the Associated Students of UW. The final plan will need to be approved by the University Board of Trustees before it can be implemented.
