A University of Wyoming Geology and Geophysics graduate student was one of 14 scientists nationwide selected for the National Scientist Training Workshop. Will Fortin studied for 10 days in the Atlantic Ocean aboard the University of Rhode Island’s research vessel, the Endeavor. Fortin says he looked at how ocean turbulence can influence the world’s climate.

Fortin is no stranger to research cruises. During graduate school, he has been part of two cruises off Nicaragua and Costa Rica; two more in the Cascadia region near Oregon and Washington; and one in the Adriatic Sea off of the coast of India.
